A correct basketball shooting form relies on the BEEF mnemonic (Balance, Eyes, Elbow, Follow-through), breaking down the key body positions from the ground up.

Stance and Balance
- Feet: Place your feet shoulder-width apart. Stagger your dominant shooting foot slightly forward. Point your toes toward the basket or slightly offset.
-
- Knees: Bend your knees and hips slightly to create a spring-like posture. Keep your weight balanced evenly on the balls of your feet. Release and Follow-Through

- Eyes: Lock your vision on a specific target, such as the front or center of the rim.
- Motion: Push upward through your legs and extend your shooting arm in one fluid motion.
- Wrist Snap: Finish the shot by snapping your wrist downward, creating a “gooseneck” hand position with your fingers pointing at the floor.
- Shooting Hand: Spread your fingers comfortably across the back and bottom center of the ball. Leave a small gap between your palm and the ball.
- Guide Hand: Place your non-shooting hand lightly on the side of the ball for balance. Do not push or flick with the guide hand during the release.
- Elbow: Tuck your shooting elbow inward so it forms a straight 90-degree angle under the ball, aligned with the rim.
